Sustainability in Action
At Route 1 Group, Our Commitment to a Greener Tomorrow
Environmental consciousness is at the heart of what we do. At Route 1 Group, we are unwavering in our dedication to driving optimisation and reducing our carbon footprint while enhancing cost efficiencies across our network.
Our 2024 Environmental Pledge:
We’ve set our sights on a greener future, pledging to minimise our carbon footprint by adopting a ‘no empty vehicle’ policy—ensuring that our vehicles are always backloaded. This benefits the environment and keeps our costs competitive, a true win-win for all.
Looking Ahead to 2025:
Our commitment extends throughout 2025/2026 as we embark on a mission to reduce our carbon footprint further by planting trees across the UK. Partnering with the Woodland Carbon Trust, we aim to fulfil our sustainability objectives by 2025, marking the inception of our investment in an electric fleet.
Responsibility as a Waste Carrier:
We maintain a collaborative partnership with the Environmental Agency, striving to be a responsible upper-tier waste carrier, broker, and dealer, contributing to a cleaner and more sustainable environment.
At Route 1 Group, sustainability isn’t just a buzzword; it’s a pledge, a commitment, and a journey towards a greener and more responsible future.
